A Tropicana Disappointment

Am I the only person who prefers the new packaging to the old? I do understand that the orange with the straw was symbolic to the brand, but they haven’t used it in years.  When was the last time you saw a Tropicana commercial where someone stuck a red and white striped straw into an orange and drank?  I think it’s ok that Tropicana wanted to move on. Many brands have dropped recognizable symbols in the past, it happens when you grow up.  I personally love the clean modern redesign done by The Arnell group. It saddens me that Tropicana is giving in to a small group of critics.

    I’ve seen more people happy about the change back. Losing the orange with the straw was a bad decision, as it had very strong brand recognition. the new one looks like generic store brand OJ.

    i stand by my disappointment. the logo and the design is better on the new one overall. maybe instead of just reverting back they should try a hybrid of the two. A cleaner look using the orange and straw.

    The new design did not have a heavy enough distinction between flavors. Design skewed usability. Quick fix, revert. Quicker to revert than to redesign yet another new logo.
